Pascal Caucheteux founded his production company Why Not when in 1991 produced La vie des morts, first film Arnaud Desplechin, who is now one of the most loved French directors.Why Not is responsible for some of the most exciting French Film of the last two decades and was also involved in several exciting international co-productions, from the indie In The Soup by Alexander Rockwell to the irriverent and powerful talent of  Gregg Araki, til the Brit Ken Loach.
